Darlene and Todd Teach a Tango Class for Jo and Rusty
STOP THE PRESSES! THURSDAY'S CLASS IS NOT CANCELLED!
I am not sure how many of you have met Darlene and Todd that recently moved here from Phoenix. They are wonderful people! Darlene has volunteered to teach the beginning and intermediate class this Thursday, while we are at the Denver tango festival. Darlene recently graduated from ASU and moved to Tucson. While there she studied tango with Daniela Borgialli. She helped Daniela teach from time to time and was an avid tango tutor. To which Rusty adds Darlene is a dream to dance with! Come on out and support tango in Tucson by welcoming Darlene and Todd as they teach our Basic and Intermediate classes this Thursday.
Last weekend's workshop in Ridgway, Colorado was a huge success. We taught tango, saw some beautiful country, renewed old friendships and made new ones. Ridgeway is excited about tango and we look forward to continuing to support their efforts. We will keep you posted about a return trip in case you want to tango in the Rockies while adoring stunning vistas.
Thanks to everyone for coming out to support the Tango Exhibition at Tucson Mall for the Southern Arizona Arts Council. It was a blast to dance in public like that. We appreciate your time and effort and we look forward to welcoming some newcomers to our little Tango world.
REMINDER: Early-bird registration for Ney and Jennifer is September 5th. Register early to take advantage of the discounted rate! In addition, your early registration assists us in establishing a leader/follower balance which ensures a more quality experience for you.
Thanks to on-going collaborations with the Sheraton, the entire Ney and Jennifer workshop will take place at the Sheraton. If you are coming from out of town you can reserve rooms at Extended Stay, which is across the road (the Sheraton is close to being sold out). September 14th - October 5th we will be offering a 4-week series in Molinetes at your Tuesday night Advanced class
It is this opposition that gives the Molinete its power. We will help you create a workout for your practice sessions that will keep you from getting dizzy doing the circular grapevine of the Molinete. We will use famous and traditional steps and combinations that end with:
- Cross System & Parallel - Twin Molinetes
- Leg Wraps
- Sacadas
- Barridas
- Ganchos
These events will happen but the focus is PURE Molinete!!!
To keep the momentum flowing there will be no drop-ins allowed after the first class. All participants must pre-register or register at the door on the first night. We will post the series topics and dates on Learn-to-Tango.com where you will also be able to register.
We have received quite a few responses from folks about our trip to Argentina next year sharing their interest in coming along. Would you like to join us in Buenos Aires? Interest is high so we are finalizing the details of arranging a group package. Thank you for sharing tango with us. Looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor.
Love, light and gratitude,
Jo & Rusty
