Newsletter # 111-3/20/11
We hope you have been enjoying this
beautiful Spring weather in Tucson and enjoying the rewards of your Tucson Tango Festival experience. What a joy it was this year to share so many
wonderful experiences with so many beautiful people. Tucson deservedly has the reputation of being one of the most welcoming and fun Tango
Festivals in North America. The friendliness of local Tucsonans will keep on bringing people back here year after year. Thank you to everyone for
all the support. We hope you enjoyed your festival as much as we did. If you have any ideas or feedback, please, feel free to send them to us.
We are always looking for future growth and improvements.
Now that life is returning to reasonable normalness we are looking towards the year and what new and fun Tango activities we can provide for your enjoyment.
Tohono Chul Park
First up is another collaboration with Tohono Chul Park on Sunday, March 27, 2011. A small group of us local community professionals and dancers
will be providing entertainment for their 2011 Sonoran Spring Celebration which is a fund-raiser for the park. We will be giving solo and group
demos and lessons to the attendees. If you are interested in this event and supporting Tohono Chul you can find all the information on their WEBSITE.
Amy Lincoln and Santiago
Croce Weekend Workshop
We were so pleased with the grace and energy of Amy Lincoln and Santiago Croce that we are bringing them back April 29, 30 and May 1, 2011. Amy
and Santiago are a lovely young couple who recently won the 6th edition of the National TANGO SALON CHAMPIONSHIP of Zona Norte of BUENOS AIRES.
They loved being a part of our festival and are very excited to be coming back. Jo took a private lesson with them during the festival and was
very impressed and we received many excellent comments on their teaching. They are currently collaborating on what they would like to offer us
here in Tucson. We will post updates HERE as they happen or you can always give us a call if you have questions (520-468-5536).
We are also working on other events for great social dancing and activities, both great and small, and will notify you of details as things fall into place. We head off to Buenos Aires with other members of the local community and one wonderful friend from Perth, Australia, on May 22 and will be back July 4. In August we have Jorge Nel coming to town to dazzle us with his energy and charisma...not to mention his dance. All in all we hope to provide you with another year full of fun, good energy and magical Tango. And, remember there is another local festival opportunity with the ASU Tango Festival happening in Phoenix the first weekend of April. We will be there dancing our feet of once again.
In Love, Light and Gratitude,
Jo & Rusty
