Wow! Brigitta Winkler was absolutely wonderful. Thank you Tucson for supporting Brigitta and for being a part of making this past weekend such a great success. A big thank you to those that came from out of town (some from out of state). Thank you Derrick for the fabulous music you provided for our enjoyment on Friday night. And, thank you Joella and Judy for helping with registrations on Friday. We hope everyone who attended the workshops found gems of wisdom and experienced many "ahha" moments. Rusty is currently working on editing the videos of the lesson summaries and they will be posted soon and made available to those who attended the classes. Look for a return visit by Brigitta in 2012!
The year is slowly (or should I say quickly) coming to a close. Our last community-wide event will be happening at Tohono Chul Park on Friday, November 26, 2010, starting at 5:30pm. The proceeds from this event go directly to Tohono Chul.
Holiday Nights at Tohono Chul is one of Tucson's most loved holiday traditions and this year Tango will be a big part of it. A dance floor will be setup, we will be providing a brief demo and possibly a short lesson. Then the community gets to dance the evening away surrounded by one million twinkling lights. Tickets are purchased at Tohono Chul -- $7 for Park members, $10 for non-members. Oh, and if you would like to go early and have a wonderful dinner, The Tea Room Restaurant at the entrance to the Park will be open. Tohono Chul will also be holding an ornament sale and auction at the Art Gallery during the event. Thanks to Christine Conte, Director of Tohono Chul Park and member of Tucson's Tango community, for making this happen!
Just a reminder that we still have a space open for a couple at our Intro To Tango Workshop being held this weekend and a spot for a leader. Please contact me asap if you would like to attend. All the information is available HERE
Less than three weeks to go and we are in AUSTRALIA!!! Needless to say I (Jo) am just about bursting out of my skin with excitement. Sun, surf, sand, family, holidays, holiday home cooking (MMMmmmmm!!!) and I get to share it all with the best man I know (Rusty, of course :)). This mean's that this Friday will be our last Milonguita before we go. Jim Baker has graciously volunteered to host the Milonguitas while we are gone - same day, same time, same place. To celebrate the upcoming holiday and to say thank you for all your support during 2010, we invite you to come along and join us this Friday in having a good time on and off the dance floor. Music starts at 8pm!
I know this is turning into a long letter but just one more item. While we are in Australia we will have a rotation of local Instructors teaching the Thursday night classes. We will post the schedule before we leave. The Tuesday's Advanced Couples class will be continuing in a practica format run jointly by the participants.
We look forward to sharing some of these wonderful tango opportunities with you before we leave. Hugs to all!

The Basics and Beyond
November 20-21, 2010
This is an all levels class - whether you are new to tango or have years of experience this class is for you. This workshop will offer foundational techniques applicable to all level dancers.
Space is limited so pre-registration is required. Partners and individuals are both welcome - we will ensure a gender balance.
